I need help with a CD-ROM ordered on www.popcap.com!


I am purchasing a CD-ROM for installation on a computer that does not have a connection to the Internet.

Unless you can temporarily connect to the Internet to allow registration of the CD-ROM, you will not be able to register the game for unlimited play. If you are unable to temporarily connect to the Internet to register the game, we recommend purchasing a retail version of the game. Please review the information on How to Purchase a CD-ROM above.

I ordered a CD-ROM from your website; when will it arrive?
Please allow 7 - 14 days for your CD-ROM to be delivered. If you have not received your order, please use this form, provide your current mailing address, and we will reship your CD-ROM. We can reship CD-ROMs within 90 days of the order date.

You can download, register and play your game straight away using the order number received on your order confirmation email. Please visit our Game Registration Help for further instructions. Plus, when your CD-ROM arrives in the mail, you do not need to uninstall and reinstall the game to play - just keep it for future installations as required!

I ordered multiple games at the same time, but received just one backup CD-ROM.
If you purchase multiple games on one order, and request a back-up CD-ROM for those games, for your convenience we will put all the games on one disc.

I tried to order a back up CD-ROM version of my games, but the option to add it to the cart does not appear.
There are a couple of reasons why this may happen.

First, back up CD-ROMs of our products are only available to customers in the United States or Canada at this time. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience.


Secondly, not all of our games are currently available on CD-ROM. If your cart contents include a game not yet available on CD-ROM, the option to purchase a back up CD-ROM will not appear.

The CD-ROM I purchased from www.popcap.com is trying to register or connect to the Internet!
A PopCap CD-ROM purchased from our website:
  • Requires an internet connection.
  • Does not need to be in the computer to play the game following installation.
  • Does not require an internet connection to play the game following installation and registration.

Instructions for Installation and Registration

  1. Insert the CD-ROM. A screen will appear with "Your POPID" and below that an "INSTALL NOW!" button. Click "INSTALL NOW!"
  2. Follow the onscreen instructions to install your game.
  3. On the opening screen, click on the "Already purchased this game?" link at the bottom of the window.
  4. Click on the input box and paste or type your Order Number inside. This is the POP ID received with your order and appears on your order confirmation email and on the CD itself.
  5. Click on the Register button to launch the online process. After validating your order, your game should be registered and unlocked.
  6. Return to your game to verify it is unlocked.

Can I purchase a backup CD-ROM for games previously purchased on www.popcap.com?
It is not possible to do this at the moment. Backup CD-ROMs can only be ordered with a download.

I need help with a CD-ROM purchased in a store (Retail Version)!


The CD-ROM I purchased in a store is trying to register or connect to the internet!
A PopCap CD-ROM purchased in a retail store does not:
  • Require an internet connection.
  • Require an order number, registration name or registration key.
  • Need to be in the computer to play the game following installation.

If after installing your game from the CD-ROM, the game says your trial is over and wants you to register or buy the game, a trial version of the game may be conflicting with the game from the CD-ROM.

We suggest un-installing all previous versions of the game and re-installing from the CD-ROM using the following instructions:


Instructions for Uninstalling Previous Versions

  1. Uninstall the game using the uninstall tool located in the game's folder (Start Menu/All Programs/PopCap Games/[Game Name]/Uninstall [Game Name]).
  2. All previous versions of the game should be uninstalled at this point to avoid conflict between your new CD-ROM and previously installed versions.
  3. A dialog box may appear that has a marked checkbox and the following text "Leave configuration and userdata". If so, please un-check the box. Then click OK/YES.
  4. Insert the CD-ROM and follow the installation instructions.

My Global Star CD-ROM with Bejeweled and Alchemy won't install on Windows XP/Vista.

We would like to replace this CD-ROM with a download version of these games. Please click here and provide the following information for a new order:

My CD-ROM won't install on Windows Vista.
Important: Please make sure you are logged in as an administrator to install our games on Microsoft Vista.

If you are experiencing problems with your game on Windows Vista, please try to run the program in Compatibility Mode.

The Program Compatibility Wizard will simulate an earlier version of Windows, and should resolve your game issue.


PROGRAM COMPATIBILITY WIZARD:

  1. Right-click the desktop shortcut icon for your game.
  2. Select Properties in the right-click menu.
  3. Click on the Compatibility tab.
  4. Check the box beside the text: "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
  5. Select Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
  6. Check the box beside "Run this program as an Administrator."
  7. Click Apply, then OK.

If this does not resolve your current issue, please click here and provide the following information:

My Bejeweled 2, Insaniquarium or Zuma* CD-ROM is not working properly.

Note: This patch is for older versions of the CD-ROMS; please check for a logo that reads PopCap with the word "Games" next to it.


*Important: This patch does NOT apply to Zuma's Revenge! and is for Zuma only. Do not attempt to download this patch for the game Zuma's Revenge!.


Please select one:

Option 1: Install a Patch for the CD-ROM.

Install a Patch for the CD-ROM

  1. Un-install the game using the un-install tool located in the game's folder (Start Menu/All Programs/PopCap Games/Product Folder).
  2. A dialog box may appear that has a marked checkbox and the following text "Leave configuration and userdata". If so, please un-check the box. Then click OK/YES.
  3. Re-boot your computer and use the following patch link to install the CD: http://download.popcap.com/pubfiles/PopCDFix.exe.

Option 2: Auto play Settings.

The auto play settings on your CD/DVD drive may be creating an installation problem. To temporarily disable auto play:

  1. Hold down the Shift key while inserting the CD-ROM and until the drive light turns off.
  2. Click Start button at the lower left of your screen.
  3. Click My Computer.
  4. Double click to open your CD/DVD drive with the game.
  5. Double click the game to launch the installer.

We are working with publishing houses and retailers to release our CD-ROM products on the International markets. Some titles are already available in France and Germany, and we will ship more titles to more countries in the coming months!
